Join Us at Netspeed 2013

Technology is now embedded in virtually every aspect of the library experience.

Get ideas for how your library can effectively use technology to meet customer demands, improve service and connect people by attending Netspeed, Alberta’s only technology-focused library conference.

This year at Netspeed, high-tech content such as visualization walls and the makerspaces movement is balanced with technology issues that library staff members face every day such as use of mobile technology, responsive web design and information literacy. Read our full conference program to learn more about our diverse program.

Keynote speaker, Nora Young, addresses how the data boom—the explosion of data about our behaviours, thoughts, opinions and actions fueled by our digital devices— will change society, and what it means for individuals, businesses, and communities.

The Gadget Zoo, which is new this year, is a chance for people to learn more about a variety of mobile devices from library colleagues who are actually using them. Delegates are invited to bring their devices to the Gadget Zoo and share their opinions about the pros and cons.

Netspeed 2013 will be held October 24 and 25, 2013, at our new venue in Calgary—the Clarion® by Choice Hotel & Conference Centre Calgary Airport, formerly the Radisson Hotel Calgary Airport.

Library trustees are eligible for member rates, but don’t wait too long to register. The registration deadline is October 14, 2013. We look forward to seeing you at Netspeed!
