Welcome Alberta’s New Minister of Municipal Affairs

ALTA is delighted to welcome Hon. Deron Bilous, Alberta’s new Minister of Municipal Affairs. We look forward to working together to continue a strong tradition of providing some of the best library services in the country.

Deron Bilous was sworn in as the Minister of Municipal Affairs and as Minister of Service Alberta on May 24, 2015.

He was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton-Beverly-Clareview on April 23, 2012 and again on May 5, 2015. During his first term he served as a member of the Standing Committee on Private Bills, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing, and the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship…. Public Library Services Branch

The Public Library Services Branch (PLSB) is part of the Corporate Strategic Services Division of Municipal Affairs. It provides policy, planning and administrative expertise required to develop and maintain provincial legislation related to public library service. It is also accountable to the Minister for ensuring library board compliance with the Libraries Act and Libraries Regulation.
